Randy Arozarena News
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, a walk, and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the New York Yankees. Arozarena blasted a three-run shot off Nestor Cortes in the third inning to give the Rays a 4-2 lead. His home run went 385 feet with an exit velocity of 102.5 mph. It was his seventh of the season. He later logged an RBI double, driving in four runs in Saturday's game. The 29-year-old is off to a slow start this season, slashing .154/.253/.329 with seven home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs, and six stolen bases over 39 games. Arozarena will look to build off Saturday's performance and should remain in fantasy lineups despite the slow start.
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena is not in the team's starting lineup on Sunday in the series finale against the Chicago White Sox. Arozarena will get a blow after starting the team's previous nine contests while going just 4-for-34 with 13 strikeouts to drop his season line to a rough .154/.228/.260. The 29-year-old Cuban slugger has added three home runs, nine RBI, four stolen bases and 12 runs scored in his first 104 at-bats in 2024. After the day off, hopefully Arozarena will be able to start picking things up offensively for the Rays and fantasy managers. Harold Ramirez is starting in left field and batting fifth, while Austin Shenton is the designated hitter and is batting sixth against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde. Ramirez has one hit in two career at-bats against Fedde, while Shenton has never faced Fedde.
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena is not in the team's starting lineup on Thursday for the series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. With Arozarena starting on the bench, Harold Ramirez will start in left field for the Rays and will hit cleanup against Angels right-hander Griffin Canning. Arozarena could use a day off, as he's hitting just .174 (12-for-69) with two homers, six RBI, four steals and 19 strikeouts in his first 18 games, and he's currently in a 2-for-23 slump. Hopefully, the day off helps the 29-year-old get right heading into this weekend. Ramirez has gone 18-for-71 (.254) in the early going with a homer, eight RBI and a stolen base. He has never faced Canning in his career but could be a nice producer at a low cost in DFS on Thursday out of the cleanup spot for Tampa.

Few players got off to a better start last April than Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena. The 28-year-old slashed .327/.392/.573 with seven home runs, 28 RBI, and three stolen bases over the first 28 games of the season. He was effective over the next two months before nose-diving in July, recovering in August, and then faltering again down the stretch in September/October. Overall, he finished with a .254/.364/.425 batting line to go along with 23 home runs, 83 RBI, and 22 stolen bases over 551 at-bats (151 games). On the surface, those numbers look disappointing, considering how hot he started. However, he put up a career-best 12.2% BB rate and a 23.9% K rate, which was his lowest mark since the 2019 season in which he only played 19 games. He also set a new career high in home runs (23) and Hard Hit rate (48.4%). The struggles of July (.153/.223/.259) and September/October (.216/.317/.364) could be partially attributed to injuries. While Arozarena has been a durable player over the last two seasons, playing in 153 games in 2022 and 151 in 2023, he did play through a knee and back issue in July after colliding with a wall. He also dealt with a troublesome quad in September. He finished the season as a top-20 outfielder and is currently the 13th OF off the board per NFBC ADP, which is on par with RotoBaller's OF ranking of 12. While his RBI numbers will always be depressed in Tampa Bay, he still has a solid blend of power and speed that could see him produce 25 home runs/25 steals. FGDC is on board with Arozarena producing a 20/20 season and has the Rays outfielder slashing .259/.346/.445 with 23 home runs, 85 RBI, 84 runs, and 24 stolen bases with a .343 wOBA across 567 plate appearances in 2024.
