Brandon Marsh News
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh find themselves on the bench for Friday's contest against Miami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers. Cristian Pache is in left field for the Phillies and is batting in the eight-hole, while Whit Merrifield will play second base and bat sixth against Rogers. Stott is carrying a .250/.344/.389 slash line with three homers, 19 RBI, eight steals and 19 runs in 108 at-bats so far in 2024. Marsh will be out for the first time since May 1. The 26-year-old is batting .254 (30-for-118) with six homers, 20 RBI, five steals and 13 runs this year. Merrifield is the more realistic DFS sleeper target on Friday. He's never faced Rogers in his career and is hitting .237 (14-for-59) on the year with two homers, four RBI and four stolen bases.
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh are not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marsh and Stott will sit against Pirates left-hander Marco Gonzales. Stott and Marsh should be available off the bench to pinch-hit in Saturday's contest. Cristian Pache replaces Marsh in left field and is batting eighth, while Edmundo Sosa is batting sixth and handling the keystone. Pache has appeared in three games and has yet to collect a hit over four plate appearances. Sosa is hitting a robust .750 (3-for-4) with a homer over three games. Pache can be avoided in all fantasy leagues, while Sosa can be used as a streamer in a plus matchup versus Gonzales for Saturday's slate.
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh had another good day at the plate on Thursday in a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marsh went 1-for-3 with his fourth homer of the young season and added a run and two RBI to his line as well. The 26-year-old appears to be finding his groove fourth MLB season, as he is slashing a strong .333/.357/.641 with six runs, four homers, nine RBI, and a steal. He doesn't play every day, but if he continues to hit he might force the Phillies hand. Marsh has some upside and is a decent option in fantasy leagues, especially those with five outfielder spots to fill.

Philadelphia outfielder Brandon Marsh (knee) is being pushed down in many drafts due to knee surgery, which could delay the start of his season. The 26-year-old is recovering well from knee surgery and has recently taken batting practice. He hit .277 with 12 home runs, 10 stolen bases, 60 RBI, and 58 runs. Marsh started taking batting practice on Friday morning. ATC projects a .255 batting average with 13 home runs, 12 stolen bases, 54 RBI, and 58 runs. The veteran has some tremendous underlying skills that show he could surpass these numbers. His 12.5 BB% and his 48.7% hard-hit% ranks among MLB's best. If he could shave a few points off his 30.5K%, Mash could easily hit 20/20 status with a batting average that won't sink your ratios. His current NFBC ADP of 337 represents a buying opportunity for your outfield.
