Tre Brown News
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown (head) left Sunday's meeting with the Carolina Panthers. He won't return. The 26-year-old, who led the team with one interception heading into Week 3, didn't appear on the box score before his premature departure due to a concussion. Fortunately, Seattle won't play until Monday in Week 4, so Brown might be back for that one. In the meantime, third-string corner Michael Jackson came in for relief.
Free-agent offensive tackle Trent Brown is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, according to a source. Brown was a Pro Bowler in 2019 with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he's played in only two full seasons in seven NFL seasons and has suited up for a combined 14 games the last two years with the Raiders and New England Patriots due to injuries. The 28-year-old has been on the field 25 times over the past three years, so he's an obvious injury risk. But the Seahawks need a lot of help on their offensive line. Brown was taken in the seventh round in 2015 by the San Francisco 49ers and spent the first three years of his career there before spending 2018 in New England.
Seattle Seahawks rookie cornerback Tre Brown (knee) underwent successful surgery to fix his patellar tendon and medial and lateral retinacular tears. Brown is expected to be on crutches for six weeks and will then have a six- to seven-month recovery period, so his rehabilitation could stretch into the start of the 2022 season. It's a tough blow to an already beat up Seattle secondary, as Brown had emerged as the team's starting left cornerback in his rookie season after his debut in Week 6. D.J. Reed (knee), who is also dealing with a knee injury, isn't a lock to return next Monday against the Washington Football Team. If Reed can't return, the Seahawks will be starting Sidney Jones and Bless Austin on the outside.
