Tommy Devito News
New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (thumb) exited during the first half of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles and is officially questionable to return. He was replaced by rookie Tommy Devito, who returns under center after totaling 1,087 passing yards, nine total touchdowns, and three interceptions from Weeks 8 through 16. At this point, it's too early to tell whether Taylor will be able to return, but it's worth noting that the injury was to the thumb on his throwing hand. Therefore, if he does re-enter the contest, he'll likely have to play through pain.
New York Giants quarterback Tommy Devito endured a regrettable first half in Monday's matchup versus the Philadelphia Eagles and was not given the chance to redeem himself. The Giants' coaching staff opted to turn to veteran Tyrod Taylor. DeVito finished the game with nine completions for 55 yards and no touchdowns. He also added one rush for five yards. Coach Brian Daboll declined to name a starting quarterback for Week 17 when the Giants host the Los Angeles Rams.
New York Giants quarterback Tommy Devito took a step back against New Orleans in Week 15 and could face a similar uphill challenge against the Eagles on Monday afternoon. The undrafted rookie has been sacked 35 times in seven appearances, including seven last week. While Philadelphia is middle-of-the-pack for sacks this season, the defensive line is widely regarded as the strength of their defense. Sacks won't hurt DeVito's fantasy production (in most formats), but it does put the New York offense behind the chains, which decreases his touchdown odds. That's where DeVito does his damage in fantasy football, as he's failed to top 200 passing yards in four of five starts. The Eagles do allow the second-most fantasy points to the position, so he could hit that mark again this week. He should only be used in 2QB or Superflex formats.
