Marcus Williams News
Baltimore Ravens safety Marcus Williams (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions. Williams injured his hamstring in Week 6 and was a long shot to play this upcoming game due to the fact he didn't log a practice. Injuries have limited the seven-year safety to just three games this season. Cornerback Kevon Seymour (ankle) has also been ruled out for Sunday so the Baltimore secondary is looking a little banged up at the moment, which should be a boost for Detroit pass catchers Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and tight end Sam LaPorta.
Baltimore Ravens defensive back Marcus Williams (pectoral) will not require surgery for his pectoral injury and will not go on Injured Reserve, according to head coach John Harbaugh. This is a good sign for the 27-year-old, who was placed on Injured Reserve in October of last season and did not return until early December. Baltimore's secondary will be in much better shape when Williams and cornerback Marlon Humphrey (foot) return to health. Both players missed the Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and could be out in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Baltimore Ravens safety Marcus Williams (pectoral) injured his pectoral muscle in the Week 1 win over the Houston Texans and is expected to be out for a while, according to head coach John Harbaugh. The injury may not be season-ending, but Williams is considering surgery. The surgery route would keep the 27-year-old out even longer, and it remains to be seen when he'll be able to rejoin Baltimore's secondary. Either way, Williams' injury is a key blow to a thin Ravens secondary early in the 2023 regular season. Expect to see former third-rounder Brandon Stephens step into Williams' starting free-safety role in Week 2 on the road in Cincinnati against the Bengals.
