Adley Rutschman News
Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman came up clutch for his team during Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The switch-hitting smacked a two-run walkoff home run in the ninth to give the O's the win. This marked his second career walkoff blast and his third home run in his last four games. Rutschman continues to prove why he's arguably the best catcher in baseball right now. His OPS has jumped from .781 to .859 over the last three games.
Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman went yard twice in Monday's extra-inning loss to the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays, accounting for all of the team's offense in the defeat. Rutschman tagged Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios for two solo shots on Monday, with the first coming in the fourth inning and the second on his next at-bat in the sixth. The 26-year-old former No. 1 overall pick continues establishing himself as a fantasy force at the catcher position, hitting safely in 20 of his last 22 games with a .333 average, seven homers, 18 RBI, and one stolen base during this stretch. Rutschman gets two more cracks at the Jays in this series, and fantasy managers should be looking forward to them. In 31 games versus the Jays in his career, Rutschman is now batting a superb .341 (42-for-123) with seven taters, 10 doubles, 22 RBI, and 22 runs scored.
Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman went 3-for-5 with two singles and a grand slam home run in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Royals in Kansas City. The slam cut the Orioles' deficit to 6-4 in the seventh inning, but it would end up being the only runs the O's would push across the plate in the contest. It was just the second home run of the season for the backstop, but he's hitting a solid .297 on the season with 11 RBI and 13 runs scored. After being drafted as the top catcher off the board in fantasy leagues this year, the 26-year-old is nearly holding up his end of the bargain, ranking as the second-highest scoring catcher in Yahoo leagues behind only William Contreras.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman has started his career on a very strong note, consistently posting a wRC+ of at least 120 and scoring 70 runs in each of his first two seasons. The young phenom earned his first Silver Slugger award thanks to a .277/.374/.435 slash line, hitting 20 home runs and driving in 80 RBIs. Rutschman's peripheral stats were impressive, placing him in the top 10 percent for expected batting average. Batting at the top of Baltimore's lineup, his elite ability to draw walks and limit strikeouts sets the table for the rest of the productive Orioles' offense. The 25-year-old finished in the top 10 in AL MVP voting in 2023 and is poised to be a force in the league for years to come. Heading into 2024, he is projected to be the top catching option, thanks to his well-rounded ability to get hits, score runs, and drive in runs. With an average ADP of around 45, his upside as an elite catching option could lead managers to reach for him in 2024. Regardless, Rutschman enters 2024 aiming to add another elite year to his resume.
